About the Department

Head of Department: Prof. Dr. Matthias Luserke-Jaqui

Texts are examined in the context of other texts – e.g. as motif, material, genre, discourse history or literary history – or in the context of historical realities, e.g. biography or social and cultural history. The methods of text analysis and examination are based on object-centered theories such as poetics, metrics, rhetoric, stylistics, as well as drama, narrative, lyric, and literary theory.
